Two Year Stats

Josiah had a great check-up at the pediatrician's office this week. He weighed in at 24 pounds (fully clothed) and measured 32.5 inches. He sat perfectly still and obeyed every directive given to him while there was any staff in the room. He even asked to go potty and used it while we were there. Soon, we'll be visiting the allergist and a dietitian.

This Thursday was Josiah's first haircut and he is officially all grown-up.

2 Years Old

On Sunday, Josiah celebrated his birthday in style and loved eating his cake on his new trampoline. Since then, he has been playing basketball, Thomas, or jumping with many requests to ride his bike (which he can't really do just yet, but wants to.) He has stopped to eat a little, but not really to sleep...

As Josiah turns two years old, he is a lively red-head with smiles and spunk to share. He still weighs 22.5 pounds and is getting taller everyday. His favorite foods are cereal, hot dogs (with ketchup or maybe it's the other way around), spicy chips (Better-Made BBQ), and candy; he also really likes orange juice. Brushing his teeth and hair are great fun as is cleaning just about anything (with a wipe, broom, or just picking up) and cooking. Josiah is a fantastic dancer, just like his big sister, and sings about 3 or 4 songs that are recognizable to others including "Best of Both Worlds" by Hannah Montana. He can jump pretty high off the ground now and loves to swing on and climb anything. Josiah runs everywhere quickly. He say one word in French. He has an amazing and clear vocabulary. He speaks in complex sentences up to 5 or 6 words at times. In sign language, Josiah knows about 3-4 signs, but only one that he uses consistently: patience. You can usually hear Joe saying "Eela?!" or "I got it!" and of course "Okay!" and "I do it myself! No help Mama." Making houses (forts), building with blocks or legos, jumping and dancing with Eila, painting and playing outside are popular activities. His favorite books are currently: anything Thomas and Trucks as well as Bob's Bedtime. Joe also loves to watch TV, especially Boz.

He seems so grown up all of a sudden and is a really handsome and delightful little boy. Josiah is still generous with hugs and kisses and loves to talk on the phone. He does a really good job too! Next week, he'll get his first haircut and start gymnastics classes. This next year will be an exciting one for him!
